Prior to attending law school, Stephen was a municipal police officer for 12 years. He graduated first in his police academy class, obtained the rank of sergeant, and served as a firearms instructor and shift commander. He also served as a Security Specialist in the MA Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserves, receiving an honorable discharge.
After earning his law degree, Stephen focused on divorce and domestic relations from day one. Although he believes most families are better served through divorce mediation or the collaborative process, the firm is ready to aggressively represent his clients’ interests in court when the circumstances require it.
Before forming The Divorce Collaborative LLC, Stephen practiced Family Law in Charlotte, North Carolina with the Rosen Law Firm. He was a sought-after speaker, lecturing frequently about divorce throughout the Charlotte area and appearing on the local Fox News station in a feature about domestic violence.
Stephen is active different organizations, both legal and civic. He served on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council, and is a member of the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation, the International Association of Collaborative Professionals, the Massachusetts Bar Association, Western Norfolk County Bar Association, the American Bar Association (Family Law Section), and the Bedford Chamber of Commerce.
Stephen is active in the Norfolk, MA Lions Club, helping to organize events such as Norfolk Community Day and the Chili Festival. He also plays an important and very merry role in the Santa Parade. In addition, Stephen is an experienced percussionist and has performed in numerous musical groups since fifth grade. Currently, he may be found behind the drums with the Garden Party Band. Stephen is originally from Bedford, MA and resides with his family in Norfolk, MA.
